If I am enrolled in the Black Belt Program can I receive the Yellow Belt, Green Belt, or Lean/DFSS (Green Belt) Certification along the way? http://www.assa.us/q15/ http://www.assa.us/q15/#comments Wed, 15 Jul 2015 13:21:23 +0000 http://www.assa.us/?p=99 ]]> If enrolled in our Black Program, our Black Belt Letter of Acknowledgment will list the skills that were covered in the Yellow Belt, Green Belt, and Lean/DFSS sections of your program. However, if you would like, you may request a Yellow Belt, Green Belt, and/or Lean/DFSS Green Belt Certificate by emailing Customer Care after meeting the following requirements.

  • Yellow Belt: Successful 70% passing rate of Black Belt Exams 1-5
  • Green Belt: Successful 70% passing rate of Black Belt Exams 1-8
  • Lean/DFSS Green Belt: Successful 70% passing rate of Black Belt Exams 1-9*

We will provide these additional certificates at no additional charge and the request will not delay your progress in the Black Belt Program.

*Please note: If using “The Six Sigma Handbook: The Complete Guide for Green Belts, Black Belts, and Managers at All Levels, Revised and Expanded Edition” by Thomas Pyzdek (Publisher: McGraw-Hill; 2nd revised edition (March 20, 2003)) the “9th exam” will be “Exam XVI”.

I can’t review my scored exam upon completion. How come? http://www.assa.us/q12/ http://www.assa.us/q12/#comments Wed, 15 Jul 2015 13:19:48 +0000 http://www.assa.us/?p=95 ]]>

Unfortunately, we no longer allow students to review their completed exams/assignments. This helps to ensure the integrity of our courses.

It is important to keep in mind that many answers are “weighted”. In some situations there may be multiple correct answers, it is important to choose the “best” answer to receive the maximum amount of points.

Does the final certification state that the course was taken “online”? http://www.assa.us/q16/ http://www.assa.us/q16/#comments Wed, 15 Jul 2015 13:17:51 +0000 http://www.assa.us/?p=91 ]]>

The Six Sigma Certificate and the Certificate of Project Completion (if applicable) are both clearly issued by the Aveta Institute. Although the certificate does not state “Six Sigma Online” or imply that the training program has occurred online, these certificates do footnote a “verify@sixsigmaonline.org” that is used for employer verification (which can be excluded per request).

Please keep in mind that in today’s business environment online programs are very commonplace to many organizations. Again, we supply certification to many of the largest companies throughout the world.

Do you offer a “simulated project” or “virtual project”? http://www.assa.us/q8b/ http://www.assa.us/q8b/#comments Wed, 15 Jul 2015 13:15:48 +0000 http://www.assa.us/?p=87 ]]>

We do not provide “virtual” or “simulated” projects because in a real-world scenario, possible projects need to be compared and measured against each other for their ability to have a significant impact within an organization. For example, some projects would need significant corporate resources that might end up being unavailable. Or, perhaps management will need to be a key role and ends up being uncommitted later in the project. Not comparing possible projects in the planning phase is a largely overlooked issue that cannot be addressed with a “virtual” or “simulated” project. Simulated and virtual projects typically do not adequately demonstrate a student’s proficiency.

The final project for our Black Belt Program is a written business plan that utilizes the Six Sigma method to reflect a cost benefit. You are not required to complete the project in a “live” business environment and you do not need to be employed to fulfill this requirement (i.e. it can be hypothetically based). The written business plan is simply a review of your comprehension of the material and your understanding of project implementation.

Do you offer a “Basic Black Belt Certification” (i.e. with no project requirement)? http://www.assa.us/q8a/ http://www.assa.us/q8a/#comments Wed, 15 Jul 2015 13:14:43 +0000 http://www.assa.us/?p=85 ]]>

No, Black Belt Certifications that have been obtained without a project are not typically recognized by the six sigma community as a true “Six Sigma Black Belt Certification”. We can only provide a Black Belt Certification upon successful completion of a final project.
